Dunfermline Delivers’ Outwith Festival Shortlisted for National Award

The Outwith Festival has been shortlisted for a national award. Organiser Dunfermline Delivers, along with festival partners Avocado Sweet, Fire Station Creative and Write Rammy are delighted to announce that Dunfermline’s Outwith Festival has been shortlisted for the Association of Town & City Management Awards (ATCM).
The UK and Ireland Awards ceremony will take place at a national event in Hull on Wednesday 27 June. Lisa Edwards, BID Manager and Chris Foote, Events Manager at Dunfermline Delivers are travelling to Hull for the ceremony next Wednesday.
Dunfermline’s Outwith Festival is shortlisted for the Best Cultural and Arts Scheme. Chris Foote, Events Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see Dunfermline namechecked in these UK-wide awards. The Outwith Festival aims to raise the national profile of our town so that we can attract visitors, tourists and local residents to our town centre and boost the local economy. We are grateful to Fife Council for championing this Festival. I’d also like to thank all the businesses and people that are volunteering a huge amount of their time and resources to this Festival.”
The Association of Town & City Management (ATCM) describe the Awards: “This year, the Awards have been shaped to showcase best practice across the UK and Ireland and identify successful projects that we think local and national government should be aware of”.
At the end of May Dunfermline’s Outwith Festival announced the dates for his year’s 2018 event which will take place 5-9 September. After the success of the first festival in 2017, the organisers are adding another day to the programme, with the first events kicking off on Wednesday 5 September. The Festival includes comedy, music, art, literature, theatre and film.
